The club achieved federated status in June 1966, after Florence Traver decided the Lake George Community needed an organization to promote gardening & community service.
Over the years, the club has grown and now has a total of 65 active, 1 associate and 9 honorary members from many communities - Glens Falls, Queensbury, Lake George, Warrensburg, and as far away as Elizabethtown, Minerva, Mechanicville, and more.
Another busy, exciting schedule of educational presentations, field trips, projects, and events:
** Monthly meetings featuring educational presentations on a wide variety of topics by well-known lecturers.
** Social gatherings & luncheons at members and friends homes & gardens on beautiful Lake George.
** Field trips to historical sites, area farms and nurseries, local private gardens, and member's lake-front homes.
** Workshops and fundraising to fulfill our community service obligations: $ donations to local organizations, food pantries/health facilities; scholarships to high school students; camperships for local youth; annual donation of books to local libraries
** Annual Perennial Plant Sale to raise money for our various community service projects
